GetHuman-hparker2's review of AirBnB customer service

GetHuman: So how would you sum up your experience for GetHuman's AirBnB customer community? We'll censor any IDs, numbers, or codes and any inappropriate words here out of respect to the millions of other customers using this resource.
GetHuman-hparker2: The places I've booked on airbnb have been great, and the idea is a good one. However, I've also found myself in a semi-hotel: great space, but not the genuine article. This may be the only place where I'll be able to complain about two things, having tried everything to contact a person at airbnb: I got towards the end of a booking and balked at giving them a digitial image of my passport. In my haste, I actually uploaded an image of the passport. On reflection, I was horrified to think that a business like airbnb actually held details of documents that I would only present for viewing and definitely not enable any non government body to possess digitally. I'm particularly adamant about privacy and liberties and find Airbnb's assumption that they can require these is an invasion of my rights. I really like using Airbnb, but won't continue to do so if such such 'verifications' are demanded. I want a written assurance that airbnb have now deleted my information. *Then I was shocked to find the company had attempted to take over $**** from my bank account when I hadn't finished the booking. I had to get my card cancelled to prevent the payment going through. Overall, Airbnb is impersonal and impossible to contact, and no doubt I'm wasting my time writing this. I'll write to the Guardian the NYT instead. HP
GetHuman: Let's quantify your experience contacting AirBnB. On a scale of 1 to 5, how easy is it go get help on a AirBnB problem?
GetHuman-hparker2: I'd give them a three out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
GetHuman-hparker2: I'd give them a four out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about AirBnB's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
GetHuman-hparker2: For that I would say five out of five.
GetHuman: And finally- any advice for other AirBnB customers?
GetHuman-hparker2: Call them early in the day or late. Don't forget any personal or account information you might need for AirBnB to know who you are.
GetHuman: Well there you have it. Some useful feedback and words from GetHuman-hparker2 taken from his AirBnB customer service problem that occurred on November 24th, 2017.
