After wasting precious time with that @*$%*& automated phone ****, I finally decided to google "how to reach a human at met life", and found GetHuman.com. Neither I nor anyone else should have to resort to these measures. Bottom line is don't press any buttons* don't say anything* just wait til a real human finally picks up the line.
