GetHuman: So how would you sum up your experience for GetHuman's Avast customer community? We'll censor any IDs, numbers, or codes and any inappropriate words here out of respect to the millions of other customers using this resource.
~Jim H: Avast blocked all outgoing (SMTP) email on Port ** from Outlook Express -- on a **-bit x** Windows XP machine, even when the Mail Shield was EXCULUDED during the install. I spent many, many frustrating hours on the problem -- and no one at Avast could offer a solution that would work. One rep. suggested that I spend $***.** for a Certified Technician. Some tried hard to help, but others were worst than useless -- they would provide invalid information and advice. One said that formatting a disk would not remove all the files. Another said that the **-bit version of Windows XP certainly has an SP* (it doesn't). Avast provided me with good communications by untrained and incompetent individuals. **I am afraid the future will not be bright for Avast unless there is a major improvement in customer service.**I uninstalled Avast through the Control Panel * Add*Remove Programs and still found about ** Avast Keys in the Registry that I manually deleted. About * Avast directories were also left
