“We were told that we needed to replace the key pad and control unit, after repeated instances of the key pad going off (beeping), when the alarm wasn't even turned on. We decided to upgrade to a wireless sytem, and after installation, the alarm STILL did not work, and still beeped.
The repair guy said it was most likely the wiring that was causing the problem. And that someone from ADT would contact us to arrange for an repair tech to come out.
The new installation was totally unneccesary, as a simple test would have indicated if wiring was faulty or not.
No one called to follow up, unless you count an automated message that simply routes you to their main phone line, in order to make an appointment.
We requested a Senior Tech to come out, and solve the problem. He was to come at 10 AM. Well, even taking into account the 5 hr window they require, no one called or showed up long after that. Finally the repairman called, after I left an annoyed message on a supervisor's answering machine.
It remains to be seen whether he will be able to solve the problem. But one thing is for sure: I wouldn't recommend ADT to anyone!
The company is either too big, and/or they don't have enough supervision, to insure that once they get the contract signed, and the equipment installed, that you stay a satisfied customer...
The repairmen also seem to have minimum qualifications, ie, it seems that they can only handle the routine maintenance, like replacing batteries, or installing new equipment...
