Alamo would have stranded me on a holiday weekend, 1500 miles from home, and ruined our farewell trip to see our marine son off to afghanistan. This all due to your policy of not accepting debit cards. We arrived at the palm springs, ca airport on labor day weekend and were denied our car because we did not have a credit card. we do not use credit cards. I am 77 years old had have spent my entire life working so that I do not have to borrow money. Most of the rental companies had no cars due to the holiday weekend. We ended up with a minivan from hertz at 3 times the cost of the compact car we had reserved from alamo. we will NEVER use alamo again. We have rented cars from alamo before and they have just reserved funds on our debit card. If we had been unable to get a car, how would we have gotten to the marine base 50 miles away to see our son off. Would alamo have paid for our hotel reserved nights that we were comitted to paying?
