“I sent in a check for an 82.00 payment, and they credited my account for $52.00, and I get a letter from Capital One threatening to report my "late payment" to the credit bureau. So, I went to my credit union to get a copy of my $82.00 check to prove that I had paid the correct amount, and my credit union tells me that Capital One destroyed my original check and created their own for $52.00. So, MY CREDIT UNION THAT I WROTE MY CHECK ON HAS TO GET A COPY OF THE CHECK CAPITAL ONE WROTE. Is Capital One so hard up they have to do this to collect late fees??????????????????
There is something very wrong with this process.
