To all motoring public beware of a group of MMDA trafic enforcers assigned at edsa-ayala avenue below Ayala MRT station. At around 12:30 AM of 30 Sept. 2010, I was about to drop my officemate for a ride at said place(Edsa south bound going to SLEX). I was accosted by one member of a group of MMDA trafic enforcer assigned at said place. The male trafic enforcer intecepted and told me that it is against trafic rule to pass by said lane since this is for exclusive use of buses. I explained to the MMDA traffic enforcer that I took this lane to drop by officemate since this is the designated bus stop. My officemate is going home to Pacita Laguna. He said that this is against trafic rule in the said area and asked for my driver's license. I asked for his consideration since there is no sign board in the area that would indicate said violation. He said that he is bound to issue me a traffic violation receipt since they have a quota of traffic tickets to issue and if he will forego my violation, he will be the one to pay for the deficiency. He told me that if he will not issue a traffic ticket, I would have to pay for his penalty for not issuing the ticket and he said that it will cost him Php100. I took this adivise that this is a form of kotong and I told him that I would pay his penalty of Php100. He readily accepted my Php100 offer to pay his alleged penalty and he returned my drivers license. I was not able to get his name because of poor visibilty in the area since it was 12:30 AM.
