~squiggy: I have been a loyal AOL customer for ** years, paid my account on time every month, never once had complaint until Sept. **** when I had extra charges taken out of my bank account. I could not find a phone number to call, so I went to the live chat section. After much debate, I finally got a phone *. I called and the person I spke with said I had gone over MY dial up minutes. I said that was impossible, that I had broadband and I was the ONLY person that used this computer. They basically told me I was lying, that someone had used another screen name on my acct. and racked up several hours, to the tune of an extra $**. in charges. I tried to argue that no one had access or MY permission to use MY acct. It didn't matter, I was still liable for this charge. If I wanted to contest the charges, I would have to WRITE A LETTER to the main office, they didn't have an E-MAIL address to write to. Then they convinced me to go with a lower priced plan, that gave me fewer dial up minutes, I had t
GetHuman: Let's quantify your experience contacting AOL. On a scale of 1 to 5, how easy is it go get help on a AOL problem?
~squiggy: I'd give them a four out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
~squiggy: I'd give them a five out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about AOL's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
~squiggy: For that I would say one out of five.
GetHuman: And finally- any advice for other AOL customers?
~squiggy: Call them early in the day or late. Don't forget any personal or account information you might need for AOL to know who you are.
