GetHuman: Can you tell the rest of us a bit more from what happened on 11/29/17?
GetHuman-bruce4: I have purchased a British Airways international business class ticket for myself and used my wife's AAdvantage miles to buy business class tickets for her and our (teen) granddaughter on the same flight. I was dismayed to learn (after the purchases were made) that it will cost over $*** each to reserve seats for my wife and granddaughter. (I can reserve a seat for myself, but that is not helpful if we want to sit together.) Even more frustrating, however, is that the BA agents tell us that they are not able to link the two records, so that we would be treated as single family when it is time for them to get seat assignments. Is there anything we can do to at least get treated as one family?**(BTW, British Airways appears to be unique in not allowing advance seat reservations for business class tickets booked using miles. We have used miles to fly international business class on ** other airlines without problem.)
GetHuman: Let's quantify your experience contacting British Airways. On a scale of 1 to 5, how easy is it go get help on a British Airways problem?
GetHuman-bruce4: I'd give them a two out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
GetHuman-bruce4: I'd give them a five out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about British Airways's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
GetHuman-bruce4: For that I would say five out of five.
GetHuman: And finally- any advice for other British Airways customers?
GetHuman-bruce4: Call them early in the day or late. Don't forget any personal or account information you might need for British Airways to know who you are.
GetHuman: Well there you have it. Some useful feedback and words from GetHuman-bruce4 taken from his British Airways customer service problem that occurred on November 29th, 2017.
