~Dave: The suggestion was helpful, but I discovered something by accident. Following the instructions to not "press any numbers until the voice tells you to press *" I listened to option one being to press * and option two (to speak to customer service) to press *. I waited about ** seconds and the call automatically ended. I called right back and this time the first option was to press * and the second*customer service option was to press *. Apparently the system randomly generates different numbers to press each time someone calls.
GetHuman: Let's quantify your experience contacting Barnes & Noble. On a scale of 1 to 5, how easy is it go get help on a Barnes & Noble problem?
~Dave: I'd give them a two out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
~Dave: I'd give them a three out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about Barnes & Noble's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
~Dave: For that I would say four out of five.
