~cm-fort worth tx: I purchased two of these cards for Christmas gifts, one card was registered easily by phone without providing a SSN, and the second one I gave was subsequently stolen along with other items, before it could be registered. I did not know the card number, but I still had the original Walgreens register receipt which had only the card transaction number. When I called GreenDot, I was told the card had not been registered or used yet, and they deactivated it's eligibility and they mailed me a refund for the full amount on the cards PLUS the card purchase fee. These are the only two interactions I had with GreenDot, but both were positive and I was quite happy.
