~TIM: As much as I enjoy going to IKEA, sadly, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. This is the second time I have experienced their "Customer Service" at work and find it lacking to say the very least. It is a most discouraging and frustrating experience.**I drove the hour* to IKEA to purchase a dining set only to learn that the chairs were out of stock. When inquiring, I was told a new shipment would be coming in on Friday, and that I should call Friday morning to be sure they were really delivered before driving back up the hour*. I called on Friday but was unable to reach anyone. I also tried the chat option, "Talk to Anna" to see if our chairs were now in stock, but that was a hopeless endeavor. I finally contacted Customer Service where I waited on hold neigh on forever. I was finally able to speak to a representative who looked up the item and confirmed that the chairs were to be delivered not on Friday but on Sunday since the shipment was delayed due to weather
GetHuman: Let's quantify your experience contacting Ikea. On a scale of 1 to 5, how easy is it go get help on a Ikea problem?
~TIM: I'd give them a one out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
~TIM: I'd give them a four out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about Ikea's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
~TIM: For that I would say one out of five.
GetHuman: And finally- any advice for other Ikea customers?
~TIM: Call them early in the day or late. Don't forget any personal or account information you might need for Ikea to know who you are.
