~Roxsann: I ordered a copy of my birth certificate through ancestry.com via VitalCheck. When choosing the reason why I was given a list to choose from* however, I was not informed that there are different documents for checking different reasons. I checked "genealogy" and expected to use the document to order my passport. The $**.** document arrived very quickly, but across the front was written "informational, not a valid document to establish identity". In following up by calling VitalCheck, Customer Support, and the LA County Registrars'Office I found out that I had ordered a $**.** document that could not be returned, containing information that I already knew, and that could not help me get a passport. The attitude of VitalCheck was that they were helpless to help me, even though lack of clarity on their website had caused the confusion. I suggested that they improve the instruction. If I had ordered directly from the LA County It would have cost $**.** and I would not have had this wor

~Roxsann: I'd give them a three out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
~Roxsann: I'd give them a four out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about VitalChek's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
~Roxsann: For that I would say three out of five.
