GetHuman: So how would you sum up your experience for GetHuman's Georgia Power customer community? We'll censor any IDs, numbers, or codes and any inappropriate words here out of respect to the millions of other customers using this resource.
~jst: Communication? Does Georgia Power communicate? All I can ever get is a menu - do humans work there? We live in a historic neighborhood with frequent - very frequent - outages. I can understand that the lines cannot be buried, but there is no excuse for GP failing to cut tree limbs out of the right of way and off the power lines. Unfortunately, GP leaves the limbs and trees to fall and take the power out with them. We don't need a thunderstorm to cause an outage, or wind, or even a light breeze - outages are random and down to almost one per week now. Sometimes it takes hours to restore power. The service is worse then horrible and talking to anyone is impossible. It must cost as much to hire people to answer the phone as it does to cut trees off the power lines and GP does not want to pay for either.
GetHuman: Let's quantify your experience contacting Georgia Power. On a scale of 1 to 5, how easy is it go get help on a Georgia Power problem?
~jst: I'd give them a five out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
~jst: I'd give them a five out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about Georgia Power's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
~jst: For that I would say three out of five.
GetHuman: And finally- any advice for other Georgia Power customers?
~jst: Call them early in the day or late. Don't forget any personal or account information you might need for Georgia Power to know who you are.
GetHuman: Well there you have it. Some useful feedback and words from ~jst taken from his Georgia Power customer service problem that occurred on November 13th, 2017.
