~Peg: The last rep I spoke to was very helpful and courteous. Unfortunately it was on top of several communications that gave incorrect and misleading communication. I sent Putnam a copy Power of Attorney with a Medallion Certificate from the bank for my mother. They wanted the original POA, saying the copy was not acceptable. I sent it in with a second Medallion certificate from the bank, despite my hesitations. I followed up and was told it was received, they were just behind in their work. Then * days later I was told it was never received implying that somehow I didn't send it correctly, even though the first set of paperwork was received. Now, there are consequences for the lost original POA, including the cost of a new one which is $***.**.
GetHuman: Let's quantify your experience contacting Putnam Investments. On a scale of 1 to 5, how easy is it go get help on a Putnam Investments problem?
~Peg: I'd give them a four out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
~Peg: I'd give them a five out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about Putnam Investments's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
~Peg: For that I would say two out of five.

~Peg: Call them early in the day or late. Don't forget any personal or account information you might need for Putnam Investments to know who you are.
