GetHuman-ads791: Air Canada complaint
GetHuman: Can you tell the rest of us a bit more from what happened on 11/24/17?
GetHuman-ads791: To Whom it May Concern,**I never write complaint letters, but this time someone at Air Canada must be held accountable for the incident that happened on November *, **** at Pearson Airport involving my family.**Our family was headed to New York La Guardia on AC Flight ***, ****am for my brother’s wedding. We arrived extra early as we were travelling with * year twins.*As we attempted to check in with agent, the agent noted that my * year old son’s last name contained a typo compared to the rest of our last names. (the VA was typed AV) on his name only.*The agent came to the quick conclusion that nothing can be done about this and her answer was quote “He ain’t getting on the plane”**Aside from the inappropriate and rude answer depicting a * year old on a family trip, the agent suggested the only way to rectify the situation was to go to Air Canada ticketing.*I ran over to the ticketing, leaving my wife with the twins and all our baggage and wedding garment bags to see the line was approx an hour wait said the “Air Canada greeting agent” on that line. I explained the issue and asked if it can be resolved quickly as time was now ticking to get into the long customs line.*The response “We have lineups for a reason, so get in line like everyone else”**If further details are required, I would be glad to get into many details- Including other rude comments made by Air Canada staff.**Bottom line: We missed the flight, but we were determined to get to New York and not miss a family wedding. *An Air Canada agent said there was * seat at *pm, * seats at *pm and * later in the evening, if I can manage to fix the name, suggesting no way to do that.**It’s tough to split a family travelling, especially with * toddlers.**We ended up going to terminal *, purchased West Jet seats for a flight an hour later at a cost of $****.**Our tickets were purchased via Aeroplan, we used ***,*** points, spent over $*** in taxes on those flights, $*** to get the name fixed and were even charged $** for the baggage because * of us did officially check in pending my son’s name fix.**I kindly ask Air Canada to do the right thing here and give our family the proper compensation.**A copy of this will be CC’d to the media.**Adam ****-***-****
