~TJV: I have always paid my mortgage before the due date. However, I was surprised to get an email from Caliber stating my February payment had been made, even though I had not received my statement. I pay more than the minimum amount and, without my authorization, Caliber applied some of the extra I had paid to my mortgage. It took two calls to straighten that out. Then they sent a letter stating my mortgage was overdue. When I called about that, I was told that my mortgage is NOW up to date with the implication from the customer service rep that I was a deadbeat. He refused to send a letter stating that I had been sent that letter in error. If Caliber were a restaurant, I would never eat there again. Caliber took over my loan about a year ago. In nearly ** years of dealing with mortgage companies I have never had a problem until this group. My recommendation to anyone thinking of taking out a mortgage is to look elsewhere.
