~812electric: It started in November of ****. I sent in a payment for almost $***, and * days later I got my service shut off. Let me remind you that it was the end of November and we had ice storms. They did not knock on the door to inform me that they were shutting it off, they just did it left a green note and left. I called Duke Energy and I had to send them proof of my payment. They told me that it would only take about **-** hours to review the issue and get it resolved. * days later, still with no electric, I called back to get the status on the issue. They stated that they received and processed my check the day after the due date. (which was not the case becasue my bank statement said otherwise) But becasue it processed in 'their' system ** hours after the due date it was due to be shut off. To sum it up my pipes froze and busted to my home, and they claimed that that is my expence, not theirs. Last they charged me a extra $*** t get my service turned on immediatly. Which I had to do
