~lagirl9: The woman I finally got after holding for over an hour didn't understand basic arithmetic- the LADWP owes us a deposit back, and * months later we finally got a bill where the listed the various final charges etc., including the deposit amount as -(depositamount) on one line called "release deposit" and *(depositamount) on the line directly below it called "deposit refund. That is a) comically confusing and b) for anyone who can balance a checkbook, an equation that cancels out to zero. The rep I spoke to was nice enough but was truly clueless and kept telling me that the -depositamount was the credit, because they list credits as negatives (ok, that makes sense on a bill) but then when I asked directly following that- several times- why the *depositamount was right underneath it that said, she indignantly kept saying "that's the credit!" like it was just a reiteration of the credited amount that this time had a happy plus sign and she could not understand how I was so stupid.
