~JackS1941: I have a "wealth manager"* I also have $*.* in CREF, which I built without this guy's help. He wants to set up a plan for me, yet he never analyzed my account nor knew that I had retired a year ago. What he really seemed to want was to sell me insurance or an annuity. I asked him for one thing: the forms for withdrawing my RMD and additional monies (I did this in ****)* what I got from him was a packet of things I didn't ask for and certainly don't want. Oh, BTW, he never sent me the forms I requested. My experience, two years running, is that TIAA is a solid investment company, but they make it hard for you to get your money out!
GetHuman: Let's quantify your experience contacting TIAA-CREF. On a scale of 1 to 5, how easy is it go get help on a TIAA-CREF problem?
~JackS1941: I'd give them a four out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
~JackS1941: I'd give them a five out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about TIAA-CREF's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
~JackS1941: For that I would say five out of five.
GetHuman: And finally- any advice for other TIAA-CREF customers?
~JackS1941: Call them early in the day or late. Don't forget any personal or account information you might need for TIAA-CREF to know who you are.
