~Professor: I've used TIAA-CREF since the mid ****s. They have messed up my account numerous times. But because I am in academia, I have to stay with them. The customer service is the biggest problem they have and has only gotten worse and worse. The people they hire for the regional offices are unqualified, bizarre acting, and have a high turn over. I was forced to come to Get Human after seeing the web based appointment system was down. All the other *** numbers had huge hold times. This number gets you the NYC HQ operator. She transfered me to a call back number. *After over ** year with them, I say the solution to good customer service with TIAA-CREF is to NOT pick them as your investment company!
GetHuman: Let's quantify your experience contacting TIAA-CREF. On a scale of 1 to 5, how easy is it go get help on a TIAA-CREF problem?
~Professor: I'd give them a four out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
~Professor: I'd give them a five out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about TIAA-CREF's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
~Professor: For that I would say four out of five.
GetHuman: And finally- any advice for other TIAA-CREF customers?
~Professor: Call them early in the day or late. Don't forget any personal or account information you might need for TIAA-CREF to know who you are.
