~Eyeball Kid: I received my first statement from FedLoan today and found that I had an extra $***.** in unpaid interest that seemed to come out of nowhere. With the Direct Loan program, I'd been making electronic payments for years, on time, with no notices of any kind. When FedLoan took over, I found that the amount of money that I was now paying did not include any principal payments. Nada. So all of the money that I was paying went strictly toward interest. I was stunned. I talked to two reps for FedLoan who could not give me straight answers and tried to sell me other loan products. I requested an itemized history of my loan payments to find where the interest came from. They could not honor my request. I'm furious.
