~Dave: Upgraded to the latest map for Magellan **** GPS. Prior to purchasing the upgrade I called Magellan and was assured over the phone that my home address, as well as several road changes completed * yrs ago were on the map. I did not trust the rep on the phone, so I sent an e-mail to Magellan to confirm the same. I have it in writing in an e-mail that my home address and road changes were in fact on the upgrade. Spent $** to get the upgrade and after installing found out that Magellan lied. I spent the next month pushing them hard for a refund. They finally agreed, but I had to send in my unit for them to remove the upgraded map and put the original map that came with the unit. Before sending it to them, I had enough sense to ask if I would get my unit back. They said that they could send me a refurbished unit at their option. Therefore, I did not send my brand new unit back to them and risk getting a refurb unit. Magellan is an unprofessional and unscrupulous company. They ha

~Dave: I'd give them a three out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
~Dave: I'd give them a two out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about Magellan's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
~Dave: For that I would say one out of five.
GetHuman: And finally- any advice for other Magellan customers?
~Dave: Try to deal with them early in the day or later. Don't forget any personal or account information you might need for Magellan to know who you are.
