~dismayed: I received a letter from NICOR about my request to start service. It turned out to be an infomercial. I was threatened that if I didn't sign up for their "Gas Line Comfort Guard" that I could be left without gas service for * to ** days. If a NICOR representative responded to a perceived gas leak they would turn off the gas at the meter and leave. After I had repairs effected I would have to wait for an appointment to restore service. This is not making for better safety and my house may freeze if someone called in a gas smell.

~dismayed: I'd give them a five out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
~dismayed: I'd give them a five out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about Nicor's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
~dismayed: For that I would say five out of five.
