~MJB: I only use this insurance because it is employer provided. If I had a choice, I would not choose this company.**Until recently could not reach a rep on phone to ask a simple questions. Obama care changed that!**When I needed periodontal work, I requested a list of area providers. There were only a couple in each town near me. When I looked at reviews of those providers, they were awful. There were allegations of incorrect procedures performed or wrong tooth or area treated by multiple patients.**I did find a periodontist that wasn't too bad and got treatment. He did not use the most current procedures. I also had no way to know that before seeking treatment, I should have gotten an authorization to give the periodontist that would describe esactly what United Concordia would cover. How would I know this? And, yes, that means the insurance company, not your care giver, decides what is best for you. I had to pay extra money because I didn't get a prior authorization that I didn
GetHuman: Let's quantify your experience contacting United Concordia. On a scale of 1 to 5, how easy is it go get help on a United Concordia problem?
~MJB: I'd give them a three out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
~MJB: I'd give them a four out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about United Concordia's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
~MJB: For that I would say one out of five.

~MJB: Call them early in the day or late. Don't forget any personal or account information you might need for United Concordia to know who you are.
