~patinagold: My TV service was constantly going out. "Guide" on the remote didn't work. I would press "guide" and I would get switched to a different channel entirely. No one seemed to know what to do unless I got advanced help. I'd ask for advanced help and they'd tell me that my problem "didn't warrant it" but maybe an hour or so later when they couldn't fix it they'd decide I needed advanced help after all. I got sick of the hassle and switched to DirecTV. I'm very happy with them. I've had few problems and those I do have are resolved promptly and with no fuss. I'd rather do without TV than have to deal with Dish Network. Dish is probably the worst company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. It was installed improperly from the start and they messed up my furnace (in January - very cold) and my heating and AC provider had to come out two times to fix it. I was never told about any "contract" or cancellation fee but they tried to charge me for the remainder of the "contract."
GetHuman: Let's quantify your experience contacting DISH. On a scale of 1 to 5, how easy is it go get help on a DISH problem?
~patinagold: I'd give them a two out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
~patinagold: I'd give them a five out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about DISH's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
~patinagold: For that I would say two out of five.
GetHuman: And finally- any advice for other DISH customers?
~patinagold: Call them early in the day or late. Don't forget any personal or account information you might need for DISH to know who you are.
