~Greekmeli: I rented a car through Thrifty in Sept **** while in LA for work. During my time, I ran a red light and a traffic cam caught the incidence. As a result, the City of Santa Monica sent a violation to Thrifty in Dec ****. Thrifty claims that they never received the violation in December, and so the City of Santa Monica nearly doubled the fine and re-issued the statement in March ****. Thrifty then paid the total violation ($*** for running a red light including the late fee - first offense, clean record otherwise) and because of the rental agreement, I am obligated to pay the fine. When I asked why they did not contest the late charges when they received the notification in March, they had no response - indicating that they could care less about this because they knew I had to pay no matter what. At this point, it is the City of Santa Monica's word against Thrifty, and the city is claiming they have on record that the violation went out. Please do not make the same mistake I did - Thrifty
