GetHuman-254044: I don't think they know what customer service is. I just needed to verify what was still needed on my passport application to get it processed because I'm traveling in * weeks.*I had sent in the docs with * weeks before travel, submitted a request for email status updates, and finally received a letter stating I needed to supply additional info this week (wk *). Here is what I was told:***. status doesn't mean status. they would be sending me an email once the passport was mailed. I would think an email would have gotten them the info sooner, and would shorten processing time.**. the rep would only say that, if the letter said that they need something, that's what they need. he would not check to verify.**. rep would not verify that I would be able to get my passport in the next * weeks (it's been * since I applied, normal processing is * - * weeks) and said that I can upgrade the processing for an additional $**.**Anyone else think that the US Passport office causes the delays
