~ShadowLass: Called Earthlink last night about an intermittent outage we have been having on our DSL line for about a month--connection works fine from early morning till about *-*:** p.m. then just dies. Unplugging modem and replugging it only works for a few minutes until about ** p.m. and then it doesn't come back up at all. In the morning everything is fine again. We were on the phone from *:** till midnight with a Level * and Level * specialist. Not only did they not fix the DSL problem, after unplugging this and trying that, and going into ipconfig and changing TCP*IP and DNS settings, but the Level * tech required that we reset our router despite my husband's misgivings. Sure enough, now not only don't we have DSL service, but our home network was completely destroyed. We joined Earthlink ** years ago when they were Mindspring and Atlanta-local. Now they just ****. I would try any other ISP before going with Earthlink.
GetHuman: Let's quantify your experience contacting Earthlink. On a scale of 1 to 5, how easy is it go get help on a Earthlink problem?
~ShadowLass: I'd give them a four out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
~ShadowLass: I'd give them a one out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about Earthlink's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
~ShadowLass: For that I would say four out of five.
GetHuman: And finally- any advice for other Earthlink customers?
~ShadowLass: Call them early in the day or late. Don't forget any personal or account information you might need for Earthlink to know who you are.
