~anonymous: Be careful when porting a number to AV. AV CS told me that I had to buy a sim card and a $** pay-as-you-go card before they would setup an account and port my number even though I really wanted the $***mo plan. Ok, I did what they told me. After account creation and porting, I called back to sign up for the $***mo plan with autorefill. Immediately I was billed another $**. Over the months I found I was getting very close to running out of money so I decided to drop the $***mo plan and change to pay-as-you-go. AV CS told me today that I now cannot use the initial $** card since it is AV's policy to zero all balances whenever the customer switches plans. Let me highly recommend PagePlus and encourage everyone to stay away from AV. If you really need GSM or need to use the AT&T network, consider ConsumerCellular.
