GetHuman: So how would you sum up your experience for GetHuman's American Express customer community? We'll censor any IDs, numbers, or codes and any inappropriate words here out of respect to the millions of other customers using this resource.
~PLUIS: I tried calling a representative in the USA and reached about * different countries. These people have an attitude the second you ask for an American rep. You ask them to please connect you with an American rep and they say they can't. They can't patch you through to America and they tell you to keep on calling until you reach an American rep on the rotation. Finally I reached someone in Mexico who was very helpful. It is my opinion that if American Express is an American company the least they should do is if a customer wants to speak to an American rep they should be given that opportunity. IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR AMERICAN EXPRESS NOT TO PROVIDE AMERICAN CITIZENS THE ABILITY TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE IN AMERICA.

~PLUIS: I'd give them a four out of five for ease of finding your way to help.
GetHuman: What about quality of communication. How would you rate that on a 1 to 5 scale?
~PLUIS: I'd give them a five out of five on communication.
GetHuman: And what about American Express's ability to quickly and effectively address your problem?
~PLUIS: For that I would say four out of five.
GetHuman: And finally- any advice for other American Express customers?
~PLUIS: Call them early in the day or late. Don't forget any personal or account information you might need for American Express to know who you are.
